'oh yeah Your skin and bones

I've never seen anything like this. Some sort of mold or moss growing on top of moss and a little surprise when I got home to view these pics. I didn't even see the wierd bug crawling around in there. Looks like a green bee! If no one has seen spores and/or a bug like this tell me. I wanna know if this is rare stuff.
We found a cactus here in Bristol CT. and a couple months later it was in the paper. Someone had found the same one and investigated it. Finding out it's very uncommon but native to the area and not endangered.
